Read Across America was celebrated March 3 - March 7! South End’s theme was The Masked Reader. Throughout the week, we celebrated reading in many different ways. Our dress up Spirit Days focused on disguises (coming to school in a disguise, coming as a favorite book character, a switch-a-roo between students and teachers). Each day the children were able to see a video of a ‘masked mystery reader” aka one of our staff members, and hear an amazing piece of literature. The children enjoyed trying to guess the reader. On Friday, we held a reveal assembly and unmasked our readers! The week was an amazing one filled with fun, mystery and most importantly reading great books. Thank you to all our guest readers who took time to promote their love of reading with our children.
