Front of school

Dear NE Parents & Guardians,

The temperatures may still be freezing outside, but things are really heating up at North End!  There are so many things happening, I thank you in advance for reading this entire message so you are familiar with our upcoming events.

All students will be dismissed on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 for district-wide professional development.  There will be no lunch or recess on this day, however, the FSA will be sponsoring the annual Book Fair throughout the school day.  Classes have been assigned a specific time to shop, but never fear, there will also be time for family shopping following dismissal, between 12:30 - 2:00 PM.  Information regarding the Book Fair was sent home last week.

Read Across America will be celebrated and special activities have been planned throughout the week of March 3 - 7, 2025.  The North End FSA is also thrilled to invite your students to participate in the first annual North End Read-A-Thon.  This is an exciting event that promises to be both educational and fun for all of our young readers. This year's theme of the Read-a-Thon is Around the World and this aligns very nicely with our school-wide activities and the theme of Passport to Reading.

During the Read-a-Thon, students will embark on a reading adventure, visiting various locations through the number of minutes they read. Along the way, they will log their reading minutes, earn stickers for their travel passports, and compete for amazing prizes. The Read-A-Thon will run from March 3rd to March 14th.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Fundraising: Support our Read-A-Thon by sharing our initiative with friends and family. Every donation helps! There are two easy ways to fundraise, you can either use PTBoard or send a check/cash to school. Fundraising will officially begin on February 24th.

  • Encourage Reading: Help your child by setting aside time for reading each day and logging their minutes starting March 3rd.

  • Join the Fun Activities: Participate in themed spirit days and enjoy a fun scavenger hunt.

Visit the FSA’s dedicated Read-A-Thon website to learn more, track progress, and make donations. Together, we can foster a love for reading and make a lasting impact on our students' education.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-26 school year will be held on March 1, 2025 from 9:00 - 12:00. Further details are attached for your convenience.  If your child is currently enrolled in our Integrated PK Program, you do not need to re-register your child.  We will only require updated medical information regarding immunizations and the yearly physical.
As always, should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call our office.

Sincerely,
Traci Dyer, NE Principal
